Please explain how to build: lego lighthouse

today's how to build is on this lego lighthouse so we're gonna start from the top and work our way down so let's do two by two connect to two two by fours let's build uh that's four two by threes and four two by twos like so and let's just put a two by two in the middle for good measure put that aside this uh start with two two by fours then do some two by twos and some one by ones and some two by fours that together top of the lighthouse so two by four some two by twos gonna go around a whole circle that way uh like so and then take some one long pieces so we'll uh start here with a 1 by 4 and then some 1 by 3s i think same thing on the other side and then one by twos and some one by fours in the center do a one by six hold it into place with a two by four and two by four then do a two by four with a two by two you could fill this in some other way but this is how i did it and then uh top of the lighthouse goes on that rather than take this apart i'm just gonna show this to you each side uh two by sixes one by six one by twos around the edge so white on the top and then red on bottom and i'm just doing a ring of two by twos might be easier if you look at it this way but uh same top and bottom this is just gonna go uh under that last ring because again we're building it from the top down because i'm feeling silly uh next level um so it's going red white white red the tops this is two by fours with one by ones in the corners and the other alternate layers i did um 1 by 4 1 by 6 and then two two by fours so these two layers are the same brick layout but different colors and same with that so yeah one by four and one by six like that you know it's just good to alternate your techniques when you're doing the same shapes so that you have sturdy overlap patterns so yes continue building the lighthouse i have to put it sideways for you to see it now so this next layer get a look at the overall shape i'm doing two six this would be eight across but i'm not feeling the center so two rows of eight two rows of ten two rows of eight one row of six one row of two but i've used a whole bunch of different techniques on each layer so this you can see is mostly ones just around the outside with some twos there whereas this has twos across the central part and more twos and just some one wides over there and in the middle you can see that it's different size so again the most important thing is that the outside shape is the right size but you can do whatever you need to on the inside to make it work i just like to try and keep things hollow because it keeps it light and it uses less brick and sometimes you just need the brook to go as far as possible so again pause here if necessary again it's a red white white red there you go and then add it to the bottom of the lighthouse getting pretty good um this layer i did not do a good job of alternating my techniques so that it had can overlap that kept it together better because you can see it splits apart into four segments so this is a two by six and a one by four it's just four tall except i've done different techniques with a two by two and a two by four to save some brick it's just four of those lined up around the circle you can put them on like so or you can make it a more coherent ring up to you this is what i did though i sort of should have said this at the beginning but uh if you hadn't already realized uh this uh tutorial if you don't want to build a lighthouse is just good for showing you how to make different um circle shapes out of basic brick uh so this one is only three tall unlike our previous sections which are all four four four um so it's just red white white um again pause if necessary this again is two wides with just little one by ones in the corner bottom very similar the middle i did something different getting very close to being done now lighthouse last layer just red big circle so we've got a four eight ten twelve for the widths and uh here's what i did on the back again should be easy to reconstruct by looking at and with that the main lighthouse is complete and now we're just going to construct a little rocky outcropping for it to be on so i'm gonna build this rocky outcropping upside down so uh these are two by sixes and then two by twos arranged in a little circle then i've got a two by eight over here which is not actually helping things stick together so let's put this one by eight right here do it two by two two by four building upside down is not easy why did i do it this way again i do silly things sometimes two by eight one by eight uh two by four two by flip it around there goes the train if you guys could hear that maybe not all right now on the bottom um i'm gonna do basically you can do whatever you want down here because we want it to look a little random uh i've got them coming out at different ways maybe like that so you can see the bottom is weird and even though the top two layers are exactly so then i just took some um one wide plates and added a bit more ram randomness to the outside that one over there over here the lighthouse goes right in the center maybe build up around there a little bit it's random so uh yeah now we've got our lighthouse with our rocky outcropping there you go you
