hey guys so today i thought we'd make a deluxe pocket burp cloth take a piece of flannel and some terry cloth cut your nine and a half inches by ten inches and fold that in half and press the seam you're then going to take a nine and a half inch piece of grosgrain ribbon can be one inch can be three eighths five eighths it's your choice you're going to line it at the top where the fold was with some matching thread head over to your sewing machine and use the foot as your guide sew along both sides of the ribbon the ribbon is an optional choice it is just add a decorative look so take your terry cloth you're gonna have a 16 inch by nine and a half inch wide piece lay your folded flannel piece with ribbon attached side down then take your 16 inch by nine and a half inch piece of flannel with right side down towards terry cloth and pin in place i choose to pin where the edge of the folded piece is and then all my corners and along the sides now when i'm sewing this i am using a walking foot now when you're sewing again you can use i use the foot as my guide i do a 3 8 seam allowance and i sew all four sides leaving a two to three inch gap at the bottom or top it is your preference now with your scissors cut your corners being sure not to cut your stitches i choose to cut the corners and along the edge of the sides because we are dealing with terry cloth which is a thicker fabric you don't want a bulky corner put your hand in the hole and turn it inside out this can be a little finicky i have a special stick that has a smooth edge to push out all my corners be sure not to push too hard because you do not want to push a hole in your corners using your hand and your tool you could use the pencil if you'd like just get those corners nice and out once everything is the way you like it you can go to the ironing board and press this flat now take your pins and pin that hole closed and head back over to your sewing machine i use again my foot as the guide and i sew all the way around making sure to pivot at each corner you do not want to sew off of each corner because it does you want to give that finished look do this for all four sides and there you have it your pocket deluxe pocket birth cloth these make great baby shower gifts and are very simple to make i hope you enjoy and remember to hit that subscribe button you
