hi this is Donna with flowers by design and today I am going to show you how to make this very contemporary and maybe a little bit desert II grouping of agave plants and clear glass containers really easy to make and don't forget that these materials are available at www.fleursdesiametailleurs.com for this project I will use some variety of different agave plants which come in different sizes in different shapes and for the glass containers I chose this double old-fashioned glass actually that it's just a drinking glass and then a glass container now also a trifold container would be really nice for this project and to fill in I have sand stones I also have some aquarium gravel coffee actually coffee beans some sheep moss and of course cutters and a glue gun but something very important for this project will be a piece of paper or a cardboard and pair of scissors this little agave plant I will put into the glass it's a little bit tall so I think it needs to be cut so that it fits kind of flush with the top of the container really nice now I really want to put some gravel into it and how am I going to do this if it's really flash with a container well this is where the paper comes into play I am going to make a little tube out of the paper by simply cutting a little rectangle like this then making a like a tube and I'm going to just glue it in place like this yes I should have had my glue gun ready beforehand huh okay there we go and just like that once that's glued together a few slits at the bottom and the reason I'm doing this is so that I can bend them up bend the paper up and actually be able to glue it into the container that way I don't have to worry about having the plant in when I put the gravel in I will actually put the gravel in around the tube and that way I won't have a problem with things getting in the way sort of in the middle see it great okay so now that I have the tube in place I will start putting the gravel in around the - of course and um you know if you want to you can actually do a nation of gravel and sand or gravel by itself funnel to make sure that it just all goes into place all right and so once all the grandmas in here you just glue the bottom of the agave and you just push it in and voila this is done now for this larger container I actually use cardboard because it's a little bit more secure but you can use those things like a toilet paper roll or maybe some PVC a PVC pipe got two lengths and would actually do the job so once again let me glue these little flaps into place here and I will insert them right here in the middle and I want this one to have a little more interest so I am going to add different things for this container starting with sand this is going to get a little bit messy but fun mm and some stones to hard I may want to do another layer of something different like for example a month just to add some interest to the container that and maybe another layer and finally I will put in yeah I got the plans okay and finally just with anything that your ardor for desires so what do you think I actually have used a combination of the fillers or straight fillers to create different effects in the different plans and I've used a variety of different agave plants to give it different heights and create just some very nice groupings for example this one has straits and this one has straight coffee beans as you know this one has a combination of all of them and for the government plans I believe that I use sand aquarium gravel and coffee beans so get to working on really easy to do and very nice looking so until next time thank you for watching and this is Donna at flowers
