Please explain how to craft a duck tape® flowerpot

[MUSIC PLAYING] KAREN KAVETT: Hi, everybody. I'm Karen Kavett. And today I have a really
fun duck tape DIY for you. We're going to be
making a hexagon flower pot which is perfect
for displaying herbs in your kitchen. For this project, you'll need
duck tape, chalkboard tape, a flower pot, a hexagon pattern,
scissors, a pen, a craft knife, and a crafting board. So before we started,
I painted my flower pot this dark bronze color. But of course, you can paint
yours any color that you like. Now set your flower
pot aside for a minute and grab one of
your colors of tape. And cut a piece that is
a couple inches long. Put your duck tape down
on your crafting board, and then grab your pen
and your hexagon stencil. Now, you can just print out
a hexagon from your computer and cut it out, or you
could use a hexagon stencil that you already have. So just place that right on your
tape and then trace around it. Now grab your craft knife
and carefully cut along those lines. And you want to cut
inside your pen marks so that they don't show
on your final shape. And then carefully,
peel your hexagon up from your crafting
board and place it right on your flower pot. So now, you can cut more
hexagons out of all four of the duck tape colors. And I made a whole
bunch of them earlier, which you can see right here. So now you can just continue
peeling up your hexagons and using them to create
a honeycomb shape. Now, if one of the
hexagons overlaps the bottom of your
flower pot, you can just cut a little cut
right here in the center, and then fold the
extra tape underneath, folding it on top
of itself like that. And then if a hexagon
is going to overlap this top rim of
the flower pot, you can turn it upside
down and very carefully use your craft knife to
just cut off the excess. So just continue adding
hexagons until you've covered the entire bottom
of the flower pot. And if they don't quite
match up in the back to make a continuous
pattern, that's OK. You just face that
towards the wall. And I think the front
looks really cool. So now that our flower pot
is covered in hexagons, I want to add a
little label so that I can remember what I've planted. Grab your chalkboard
tape and cut a small piece that is however
big you want your label to be. I think that looks pretty good. So now, grab your
tape and cut a piece that is a little bit bigger. Lay that down on
the crafting board. And then unpeel the backing
from the chalkboard tape. And you can just press it
down right in the corner so that there is a
little bit of a border. And now use your craft
knife to just cut it out, leaving a small border
around the entire thing. Peel that up from
the crafting board. And then you can just
press it right into place, right here on top
of the flower pot. And that's all there is to it. I think this looks
really classy. I love how all of the metallic
colors are working together. So I would love to know from
you what would you plant in your hexagon flower pot? An herb, a flower, a cactus? Maybe you could just use
it as a pencil holder. Let me know in a comment
right down below. And I will see you
guys next time. Bye, everyone. [MUSIC PLAYING]
