Please explain how to fix a shattered projector lamp cover

and I use this Mitsubishi HD 1000 project err I had to replace the lamp last week because it finally burned out the olden looks something like this and when I put the new one in it worked for about five minutes and then I heard a loud pop and it went dim it's still viewable but much dimmer not as nice and I called Jack at all projector lamps calm and he was nice enough to talk to me for a while and tell me that he thought what it might be is a broken glass it's a protective glass on the front of the ball so I'm going to crack open my projector and see if that's the problem if it is I'll just replace the glass from this old one on the new one and hopefully solve my problem so we'll start by flipping the projector over and the lamp is right in here we'll take out that screw and open the lamp lid and then there's a handle on the lamp well actually before you pull that handle three screws and then just pull the lamp out and it looks like Jack was right this front glass shattered compared to you see the old one the bulb is burned out in there but the the predictive glass is fine so I'd like to take this metal piece with the glass and put it over here and then make a good one out of the two first of all I'm going to take this metal side protector off next there's a little metal clip basically the holds this piece on looks like it has a clip on here and clip on here just reach in with a blade or a screwdriver and pull it out on both sides hopefully hear that metal clip came out now this peace now just rocks back and if you look down in there way down in the bottom there are two screws right there and there that hold the this metal piece on which we want to replace put this metal piece on this one so I need to get down there and unscrew those so I'll unscrew those with those just a straight screwdriver notice as I do that this piece comes off okay so this is my bad bulb here's my good bulb with the cracked front on it you see the glass is telling out so just do the same procedure there now we have the good bulb and here's the bad glass and here's the good glass we're about to put on before I put it on I'm going to this is open so I'm going to blow any glass dust out of there put it in place in case you couldn't see those screws before they were there and there drop those back into place and throw them in now we're ready to put the bulb back in place and finish up by putting our metal clip back on then finally our metal guard back in place and screw it down now we have a new bulb and new glass before I put this bulb into the projector I want to turn this over and make sure there's no glass dust in there or maybe vacuum that out now let's put it back in the projector see if it works much much better
