okay hard luck charlie here today we're gonna fix this goddamn sagging gate uh when i originally built this thing uh i had intended to have a cable support coming down and of course i didn't quite finish it and so over time it started to sag and sag started to sag right into the dirt i thought i'd remedy that by putting a wheel on it that kind of remedied it for a while um until the uh until the weight of the gate flattened the tire and uh so uh and it also twisted the gate um we'll get a shot of that in a second here okay as you can see this is the this is the beauty right here um so you can see the twist in it originally i had put this ice this eye bolt through in order to uh put a cable on it that would support this thing and pull it up straight so that's what we're going to do i checked around the house here and turns out i don't have to make a trip to the hardware store but about 10 feet of cable this came off of an old uh come along a couple of a couple of cable clamps a turnbuckle that's what it's called and i found an old an old hinge with a pin on top what we're going to do is we're going to i bolt this thing into the post and then we're going to spread this eye bolt and then clamp it back up again around this around the head of this pin this is going to swivel as the gate swivels and uh and that's going to be our our hinge pin for our for our cable all right so we open it up hopefully we open it up open it up see if our pin goes through it's still not open far enough so we gotta open it a little bit more thinking it'll go in now so okay so there we have it there then we just close this thing back down on it let me just put this close this back down on it and then there we go we've got our got our swivel okay so this is the uh the hinge pin and turnbuckle for our gate support and again that's going to mount up here and there'll be a cable that will run down here to the end of the fence and then we turn the buckle and lift the gate up okay we've got our we've got our hinge and our hinge pin up here our turnbuckle we put our cable on then what we did is we lifted up the end of the fence as far as we could and then pulled this cable around and uh and got it as tight as we could then lifted the fence gate up just a little bit more on the end and we started turning this turnbuckle in and and tightening up the cable and it's real simple to do it you just grab one in the the eye bolt on one end and then just turn this hello there jeb and that's all there is to it all right here you go thanks for watching you
