welcome back to webshop weaponry today we'll be making a harpoon launcher for the harpoon sure what you're going to need is rubber tubing a piece of wood a two of that a slightly larger in diameter in the middle than your harpoon a piece of leather for the tube and some string shave the wood clean of its bark and also sand down the edges now you're going to want to drill a hole through the center of the would choose the drill bit that's the same diameter as your copper tubing and try to go straight through all the way so we're going to insert the copper tubing into the hole we just drilled it should be a press fit since the hole we drilled is the same size as the copper tubing we're going to use a rubber mallet to make sure it goes in this when you're done you tube should look like this test the rubber tube into an two foot segment to make the pouch for the harpoon launcher we use some leather from a slingshot however if you do not have that you can also cut off a piece from some old Jean material next we're going to zip tie the rubber onto the wood we lined up the rubber on both sides so that the hole was directly in the center and then use the zip ties to pinch it tighten the zip ties making sure that the rubber stays in the middle of the launcher we sanded down the the sharp edges on the tabs of the zip tie and now is ready for action to make your harpoon you're going to want to make a tip the exact same way that we showed in a previous video go check that out if you haven't seen it however instead of its cutting it up short like we did in that video you're going to want to make this our foon longer I made mine 28 inches long after you're done making your harpoon you're going to want to make the end nice and smooth so you can fit it in the leather pouch it should look like this when you're done even though the other harpoon works really well to catch smaller fish it's too big so we're going to make a small four pronged apart boom first we're going to cut the rebar straight down the center twice to separate out into four pieces should look like this use a chisel to space them out you want the prongs look like this now it's time to sharpen them to sharpen this harpoon just rolled across the belt sander when it is done being sharpened it should look like this you can add the wire on the inside just to keep it a little bit more firm if you'd like to but it is not necessary it also doubles as a survival whistle we wish that this video is sponsored by audible a site that has lots of online audiobooks and if you sign up now you can get one for free I was just listening to the berenstain bears and it's incredible just how deep it is and I would highly recommend you to try that out too yeah but it wasn't
