Hey everyone Rainbow Warrior here and today
I'm going to show you how to attach your mask to a beanie. I do plan on re-uploading a ninja turtle beanie
tutorial, however, that is going to take a little bit of time so in the meantime since
I happen to be doing this step anyways I figured I would show you how to do this so that you
could have it. Alright so I am on the last row of my beanie. So the ending row before you would normally
close off your beanie, whatever you would do whether it be row 12 or 13 thats going
to be the row you attach your mask. So I still have my hook on my project I think
I was working in half double crochet and what I want to do is that I only want to attach
these ends to the hat. As well as this point here so that our mask
will be able to flip and move which I'll be able to show you hopefully at the end. So I'm going to attach 6 stitches. You can do more if you wanted to its up to
you and again I don't like to attach it all the way back because I like to be able to
tie it and tighten it. Ok so I'm going to count 6 stitches here's
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. So this is going to be the first stitch I
enter to attach my mask and I am simply doing a slip stitch because I found that this is
the easiest way to do it. If you're more experience though and you want
to do a different stitch you can go for it. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go
into my next stitch in my hat with that same stitch from my mask. And I'm going to go through my mask first
just like that and then go through the hat. To slip stitch just pull through a loop and
you're going to pull through that loop that was on your hook as well. So I'm going to do this 6 times to secure
my strap. Again go through that next loop, just like
that and slip stitch. So hopefully you can see what I'm doing. So this ones 4. Heres 5. As you can see theres both of the loops from
the red mask and both of the loops from the hat, pull through. This makes our mask nice and secure. And this is our last one. So now as you can see I've gotten to my first
eyehole and I don't want to necessarily attach this part to my mask or attach this part of
my hat to my mask. So what I'm going to do is I'm just going
to keep crocheting my hat in this space until I get to this point. So what you can do is lay out your work, everyones
might be a little different because your mask may be bigger or smaller than mine. So I like to lay it out just how I want it
to look so just like this. I don't want to pull really tight or I don't
want it to be up like this or it will be wrinkly. So with my fingers I see that this would be
where I want to slip stitch, right in this stitch here. So lets just peel back that mask and count
how many stitches that is. Thats 1, 2, 3, ,4, 5, 6, 7. So it looks like I'm going to need to half
double crochet in these next 7 stitches so that way I'll be able to slip stitch the mask
in this stitch and I'll just mark that so that I don't have to re-count. So thats my middle stitch. I'm just going to put my mask down a little
bit and half double crochet in these next stitches. Alright so I'll place that back there. How does that look - It actually looks like
its going to be a tight fit so I'm going to do 1 more half double crochet. Thats whats great about crochet, that you
can make these changes. So this looks like where I want to slip stitch
and I'm just going to go into that point. Right there as well as into the next stitch
in my hat. Slip stitch. Perfect. That looks much better I'm glad I did that. Alright now same thing you can measure again
or you can just use your same count. So mine would be 8. I'm going to do 8 half double crochets so
that this part of my mask isn't attached to my hat. 1, 2, 3... Alright so in these next 6 stitches, I'm going
to want to attach the other side of my mask. So let's hold up this and see if it fits. So heres where we just double crocheted and
it looks like its a good fit for our mask. This mask is really big its the biggest one
out of all the ones I made. Alright and same thing, you want to slip stitch
in the next 6 stitches of our mask to the next 6 stitches of our hat. So go through that both loops on your mask
and both loops on your hat. Slip stitch. Slip stitch. So you're just getting a loop and pulling
it through all those stitches, like that. This is my last one. So there and now we're going to end our round
and you're going to finish off until you get to your stitch marker and you'll just slip
stitch and pull through your end. I'm going to show you how this mask looks. Ok a few strings but thats ok. So this is what our mask looks like. Its attached to this point and here and here. And as you can see this allows these to be
moved. So if you wanted you would flip it like this
as well as the straps down. Since crochet is reversible you would wear
it over your eyes and thats why you want to make sure your hat is the perfect length so
that it hits right above your eyes. You can see through your mask like this or
if you wanted you could flip it back up to your head and wear it on your head like this. And again sorry for the tales, I just really
need to sew those in. So thank you for watching. I really hope that this helped with this step. If you have any further questions please do
not hesitate to ask. I would be happy to help you and look for
the re-upload of the ninja turtle beanie coming soon. And I'm also going to film that one in childs
size as well just in case people had trouble adapting the adult beanie to a childrens size
so maybe that will help you out as well. So again thank you for watching. Subscribe for more tutorials and hopefully
I will see you in my next video. Thanks for watching, bye!
