hey guys today we're going to be talking about how to cut cane grass so first thing I want to go over is the type of weed whacker I use a straight shaft that'll like the curved shaft I think it's a little easier to use a lot of people will try to cut cane grass with the Ray your weed whacker string the little plastic string and even the really thick stuff that like professional landscapers use it it'll cut it but it just literally destroys it so you're constantly having to change out the string and then the bigger thing is that this tri-tip blade once you come in closer is you can see it it's cut the cane grass probably ten times quicker and it comes this relatively sharp but I always use an angle grinder each time I go out all sharpen both sides of it when I reason I flip it over and I'll sharpen the other side basically it gets those Chargers like a knife and it cuts through I'd butter as you'll see later on the video so this tri-tip blade I'll put a link in the video it's made by organ and just you know I want to go over a couple other things as far as gas if the gas oil mix obviously use ethanol free gasoline and then you use a little tube a little tube for oil and it it makes one gallon at the time always wear boots because that it'll fling back rocks extremely quickly wear long pants I'm obviously I'm going to change before I go out there always wears glasses and if you want to be safer you wear a full face shield to make them in plastic or they also have metal ones that have a fine mesh screen on them always wear gloves long-sleeve shirt and your protection just seems super loud and yeah anyways well let's head out to the field and I'll show you what we do alright so we're going to get started here at first I just wanted to show you why don't you come up close I just wanted to show you how thick and these aren't even because they get but they some of these can grass stalks get up to like an inch thick and there's super tough so it's just I mean you could just destroy this the regular string weedwacker string that's where the blade and you'll see here in a second of how easy it goes through the stuff so alright so I'm going to show you how it works all right so as you can see I wasn't going all the way down to the ground just because it was so high like some of this cane grass is 15 feet tall it's actually easier to do it about knee height and get it all down and then come back and kill it and then do it one more time later on and also doing it at knee height that to begin with prevents you from hitting rocks and the limbs stumps glass bottles beer bottles stuff like that so it's just safer and yeah and as you can see this was what we did we had a buddy we did that about that whole field about two hours yesterday so you can really crank through it again with the blade and it's a really good workout try not to try not to do more than three or four hours at a time because it's pretty tough work but you can obviously over time you could build that up so anyways going to give you some first first-person view footage
