come on I love the trees and I'm always sad when I see one that has to come down for disease or from damage and rather than wasting all that timber or at best using it as forward well I've got a great idea for a log that's gonna look smashing but it might involve fire and I'm gonna make a stool out of it there you go job done well not quite we need to pre it up a little bit and what you want to look for is something does either bean seasoned or let it season and use your patience you want to start with 10 fingers and finish with envy but when I think of a school either at a kitchen bench or a bar it's got four legs so what you do with a chainsaw is cut out some grooves for four legs but I'm not going to finish there and with the final wedge yeah we've got our stool but we can do better than that I'm actually gonna have another guy with a chainsaw and take out the insides of these four legs so I'm gonna crisscross the kindling in here and create a standalone little fire pit if you did this at night and be worth getting the marshmallows out and the kids and I'm gonna use the fire starters cuz they only lasted two weeks and scouts well this is definitely the best part of the process standing around the fire just kicking back but you need to keep your honor because you want it to burn evenly your four legs don't have to be exactly the same size but if it's a two or three legged stool it's just not going to work so if the winds blowing in a certain direction I reckon a crowbar is the easiest way to give it a turn every five minutes or so so that the next side can burn just as even and it falls out I'm gonna put back in and when you're happy with the shape of the legs and you've had way too many marshmallows just grab the hose put the fire out now what falls on the lawn will be cool straight away because it's covered with the water and I reckon it's a lot easier to rake this up and stain your concrete or your papers about the hose running for about a minute and I can still hear that sizzling in there so whatever you do don't use your hands if you need to clean it out leave it to dry and then give it another good scrub with a spatula and a steel brush the reason why is you want to get rid of all the loose sort of charcoal that's on the stump just leaving the black so you don't end up with it all over your hands every time you move the stool now I'm going to spray it with some furniture oil which will protect the natural colors of the timber and be nice to touch and I'm also going to spray it rather than paint it or roll it because I can spray all the black inside and it's just another protection for happiness what do you think their best thing about is you can make it in all different sizes for different bottoms current yeah how's yours damn what's that next week you want to do a dining room table maybe more like a bonfire
