hi I'm Billy Birdwell I'm a homeowner here in Chatham County I've lived here for five and a half years this will be my sixth hurricane season I start out by going to any hardware store or lumberyard i buy five-eighths inch plywood a reasonable quality that I can afford I then measure the window get the measurements down measure on the plywood 36 by 66 and a half measure it twice cut it once I take it back to the window and make sure that the fit is good because I am an amateur then I bring it back to my workstation I install five barrel bolts I get I used three inch barrel bolts they caused retail through ten each I need five so that's fifteen fifty I installed the bolt itself on to the plywood then I take it back to the window and install the receiver for the for the barrel boat on the windowsill it will remain there afterwards I labeled the shutter so I know which window it goes in and I put it back in the garage in the opposite order in which I want to install it hopefully it will never come out of the garage again
