Please explain how to make cropped trousers | tutorial

what's going on YouTube to speak and I'm back at it within your video today I'm bringing you guys a sewing tutorial we're going to be making a pair of cropped rousers now crop trousers are great style of pant for the summertime especially when the temperature starts rising but you don't really feel like wearing shorts so today we're going to be cropping the pants redoing a leg opening and then adding some pleated seams on both legs of the pants so for this tutorial your sewing machine a pair of scissors a seam ripper a ruler and of course your pair of pants today I'm going to be working on the eyes eyes straight leg pants I got these off of Amazon for about 25 bucks MSRP was $60 and I would definitely recommend picking up the specific pair because it fits great on the waist and the seat of the pants the most important part about this tutorial is that we're going to be working on the legs so you want everything else to fit really well so I recommend you guys getting these that price is really cheap less than a t-shirt so I'll leave a link in the description if you want to follow along with this same pair of pants I'm using so that's about it let's get into the tutorial first we're going to find the desired length that we want to crop the pants so to do this you're going to put the pants on and then fold them inward and just mark the crease at your desired length next up we're going to undo the seam on the leg opening so to do this you want to take a seam ripper or even a pair of small scissors and just cut away at the threads that hold that leg opening together next you're going to undo the leg opening and then measure its length and then take that measurement and make a marking below your original line that you drew after you've marked a new bottom and you're going to cut off all the excess fabric here I'm going to taper the pants a little bit because I want them to fit a little bit more slim so what I'm going to do is mark my desired leg opening length so a good length that I use a lot is six and a half inches so I'm just going to mark six and a half inches on the pants and then make a little crosshair and I'm going to be tapering them from the knee length all the way to the leg opening so I just drew a diagonal line connecting my point from my knee back to the six and a half inch mark next we're going to do a simple straight stitch from the knee to the leg opening just following along the line that we drew once you finish the straight stitch then we're going to cut off the excess fabric making sure to leave a bit of room away from your straight stitch because we're going to be over locking the raw edge next we're going to be doing the over locking stitch I recommend setting your machines with to its highest setting this should be like a five and then doing the over locking stitch starting above your point that you cut out and then just running all the way down the leg of the pants now we're going to recreate the leg opening so fold your pants back up twice so that you're marking is only showing then just sew a straight stitch along the leg opening to just stitch back together now to add the pleated detailing you're going to first want to iron your pants so they have creases on the front and then you're going to start sewing a straight stitch from the leg opening up to just below where your pockets are that's there for the video thank y'all so much for watching if you do end up making a pair of your own crop trousers definitely tag me on instagram at elevated ike i remember last time when I made the tech wear car goes one of you guys tagged me and it was so awesome but thanks for doing that until next time it's really kind of see you guys please
