when you get dents in canvases it's very very annoying and there is a way to get it out and I've got a canvas which is heavily dented so I thought I'd film it to show you how you get dents out of counter it's actually incredibly easy what you'll need for it is a bottle who can spray water and just a normal head right so I'll show you the canvas and then I'll talk through what you're gonna do with it I've got this canvas you can see how loose it is look at that awful and there's unbelievable of our dents in there so what I'm going to do is I'll put more pronounced dent in it so you see so I'm really pushing my finger through that there we go right you can really see that dent now it's got like a nipple there yeah you can see the dents in the back of this one quite badly there's one there there's one here which is quite a big one so let's sort it out the things you'll need take your water spray put it on a Miss not a direct splurt at if you haven't gone of these you can just use a sponge and get it nice and wet if you've just got one dent just spray the area where the dentist and get it nice and where this canvas really needs tightening up all over it so what we're doing is canvas is made of material and when it gets dented or stretched the fibers come apart and they get loose so what we're gonna do in theory is get them wet so they get even looser and then dry them very fast with the hairdryer and that'll make them contract and get tighter again so just going to wet them loose them and get more tight tagging that's the process just getting there doing nice good on the back of the camera it may drip but don't worry about that this will work on a canvas that's not been painted on anacondas the husband paint on so if you pay too high and you've got dent in it this will still work it'll still bring it in sometimes to paint me crack but that's you know maybe here and there so I'm getting this thing sausage because this is a really bad really bad canvas just to reiterate if you've just got one single dent just do that area don't do the whole canvas you don't need to do that so then you know hairdryer most head roads got a few settings put up to us halogen go really doesn't have been my experience if you are doing this on a painting that sort of been paid to the other side and it's a critic make sure you don't have this too hot because it will melt the plastic and it may actually with house up they may make a crack so be very careful keep checking it and then give it a good blow dry so here we go this is the best way to get bent out of canvases just that little bit already I can fill the canvas time you know if you've got drips on it just drop the drips in you can already hear the difference if you angle the canvas to a light so should be able to see the business go away I love that that will make you very very hot because it's a hairdryer so they'll show you know I believe the dent was about here and it is yeah it was there and now it's completely smooth if I go an angle there is there is no dents in that and then if we go to the front pop that up on my knee you can see there are no dents in the canvas and I'm pushing pretty hard and you're obviously gives a bit but it's much more taut than it was where am I trying for my finger yeah see though you can just about see there so it's still a touch loose this one but it'll be fine once it's under coated there's no dent left in this and the bit on the back is completely clear with that done your canvas will now be dent free and just undercoat it or retouch it up as needed don't put over the bath don't put over the kettle don't put in the dishwasher wet or other things wrong yet this works every single time so that's it let me know if this works for you in the comments if you have any further questions again the comments a good tip if you go into certain are shops in England especially the range and places like that and you find a canvas there's got a big old dent in it because it's not impact properly or someone's kicked it say this one's got a dent in it can I have a discount because it's buggered and they'll say yes of course you can ten twenty five percent off and then you'll get a clamorous with a small dent in which you can fix in minutes so that's it please subscribe please thumb it up and I hope your painting goes well bye bye
