doing this all green batch I've had this old boy for a long time used to grind flour with it uh and I've modified it a little bit so I could use it to to crack the barley now I want to show you the different positions I put it in and what we ended up with this is my first grinding now this I think is a little bit too coarse there's a lot of the barley has made it through without getting cracked so I don't think this one's right I want this to be more pieces I'm trying to avoid the flour but I think this is too coarse now I've got two different settings and let's look at the bottom one first now you can see this is pretty well chopped up there's virtually no grains of this the arc broken up the problem is I've got quite a bit of almost flour and I'm afraid that's going to block off my wort from coming out of the ton so let's look at this top piece now that is a little coarser but you can see I've broken these things into just into pieces not much in the way of flour so I think I'm going to leave it this way occasionally I'll get one that has it has passed through without cracking but I think this is probably the best so that's how I'm going to do the rest of these
