welcome to the timeless garden video tutorials today's lesson is how to make coffee cinnamon and vanilla scented grubby hang tags first you're going to want to pour 2 cups of boiling water to bowl add a quarter cup of instant coffee doesn't matter what kind what brand um just as long as it's instant that's the important part you can also use tea if you'd like um stir it make sure that it's completely dissolved just a little bit now add vanilla now i like to add a little bit right now and then after it cools down some i like to add the rest of it so it takes three tablespoons of vanilla none of these have to be exact measurements what you want to do is put in these tags these tags i purchased at an office supply store and i like to use the strings as well i put them in the mixture to give them a good scent make sure that they're all completely soaked the front the backs everything you're gonna want to let these soak for about 15 minutes the longer they soak the darker they're going to be done you just take them out and start placing them on your cookie sheet you can put paper towels down if you'd like i don't i don't because i don't really like the look that the paper towels give it to the back of the tags but if you want to feel free another thing i like to do is squish them up and make them um wrinkly vintage look and just lay them out flat again just take them squeeze it you can see you've got the little wrinkles there i love that look just continue to put them all over the cookie sheet all the strings you're going to bake the strings as well now for the cinnamon just sprinkle cinnamon all over the tags as much or as little as you want um what i like to do is take the lemon and rub it in sometimes the tags turn them over and put cinnamon on the back as well pickle the cinnamon all over the tags again on the back side rub them in you're going to place these in a 200 degree preheated oven for about 15 to 20 minutes longer they're in the darker they're going to be when they come out they're going to be dry and then you just uh let them cool these little folds and make sure they're not loose if they are loose use a any kind of craft glue to glue them back on take the cinnamon i usually rub off as much as i can with my hand and that's it you just take them decorate them as you want to next uh lesson i'll be teaching is decorating your hang tags really simple easy that's it thanks for joining us tune in to our next video thank you you want to print out the recipe go to thetimelessgarden.com and uh we have it there for you to print
