a few weeks ago I collected some seeds from foxglove I coughed the stalks kept someone in there just to show you and abandoned all the seeds out onto a piece of paper which are then poured into an envelope I'm now going to sole those Foxcroft seeds and well it's still relatively warm in the year we're in August at the moment they should germinate and start to go before the winter comes over window I'll keep them nice and safe in a polytope and give them a bit of support and next Bing I can plug them out and them be ready so I've got my seat rate prepared very very gritty compost mix with lots of perlite and sound added to help the drainage another thing I'm going to do is I'm just going to firm down with a trowel I'll the compost and the seeds have got something nice and secure to go on to because they're finished foxglove seeds is we don't bury them we don't we're not going to cover these with anything you just leave them on the top because they need the light in order to germinate so that will also affect how I water them as well if I've got all these tiny little seeds sitting on the top and I come in with a big heavy watering can it's going to knock them all over the place so I'll talk about that in a minute all right the thing with Fox called seeds is they are very very fine smaller than a speck of salt so I'm going to do is I'll try and get someone else out and then I'm going to scatter them that's the camp on to the surface at this compost now because this is small I'll be honest the going everywhere at the moment you can't really achieve up nicely spaced plants and that you'd normally try new if loud you see so what I'll do is as they start to germinate and grow I'll finding out until none of the points are touchy and that's this as easy as that really just do the rest of the tree it's quite a lot of scenes on there now I've still got loads left as well so they'll get sealed back up used another day the important that we make a label because it is easy to forget what you've planted until things start to glow so pop me label inks just a little coffee stirrer like watering now as I said these seeds are very fine we put a warning come on - that's just going to Scotland everywhere so trusty spray bottle I'm going to finely missed them and I'll keep the mist in them until we start to germinate once the up germinate and they start good are we oh I'll miss them some more until we get to a decent size where I can prick them out put them in their own little pot and then I can water them in a more conventional way with a water income also as well to stop seed tray from drying out I'm going to stand it in a larger tray of water so that the water will then soak up from the bottom and keep the soil and the seeds dumped in that way so hopefully we have quite a few Fox coupons next year from this lot so I was a good thing to say pea seed and savior seed and you'll save yourself a Falchi thankful so there's me Fox course next one
