deeply entities to everyone hey this is Megan the owner of the Zen succulent located in downtown Durham I'm so thrilled to be talking to you about the euphorbia try gonna plant in front of us see tuned for different pruning planting tips and care and more so known as an African milk bush the friendship cactus this efore Bo tried ona is not a tree a bush or a cactus at all it is a form of succulent variety that is native to Africa you try gonna plants can grow anywhere between six to eight feet tall so they can be a giant house plant it is something to know that they need to be repotted every two to three years only in the growing season make sure to only move one spot size succulent is a Sun worship term meaning give it as much bright light as possible you can even plant these outdoors if you're in a zone 10 through 12 but for those of us indoors you want to make sure to put it next to a bright window get tons of it comes to watering this euphorbia always err on the side of caution this is a drought tolerant succulent so we only want to water when the first inch of soil is dry and water thoroughly but a lot of drought in between water most succulents this plant is going to love a warmth so make sure to keep it in a bright indirect place but by winter that doesn't have a draught now when it comes to fertilizing use a twenty twenty twenty solution but only during the growing season no need to fertilize when the plants not varieties are prone to mealy bug or scaly bugs so those are the little white pests that you might see on the plant what you can do to get rid of those is dislodging them by using a brush I'm in dousing them with neem oil also protecting your plants from pests we use a few simple ingredients look forward to sharing that with you all if neem oil neem oil make sure to use as instructed and spray on your plants if you have any mealy bug you need scale bugs they help stop the plant stop the boats from continuously growing in laying eggs so they're of great thing too doubts on your house plant love to use rubbing alcohol as well as per side for rubbing alcohol you would simply use a q-tip and douse any bugs that are on your plane and that kills them instantly when it comes to hydrogen peroxide add it to your water so mix it into your water just using a couple of tablespoons and putting it into your watering regimen and when you water the soil of your plants it is going to kill any larvae or bugs that are nesting with inside that the other two brushes are really going to be used to help kind of dislodge any of the bugs or any of the larvae and egg sacs that are left behind of your planet so when it comes to it just pick two brushes and use it in your arsenal to help brush the planets but it's on the euphorbia trike onus they have these little tiny leaves some of purple summer green now with that being said the least you drop off sometime is a part of their lifecycle or during the winter months however if you're Spearin Singh droppage in the summer months mean that your plant is stressed and needs more water so make sure to water thoroughly also you always want to remember never to overwater any type of succulent so make sure if there's any water left in the pan to throw it out much for following along for our planet tip Tuesday's here at that's in cycle and I'm the lovely euphorbia try going a plant we are open Wednesdays through Sundays and always online and look forward to bringing you plant tips every Tuesday thanks for watching
