Please explain how to crochet a choker!

hey guys welcome back to me you can crush a I'm sure you guys have been seeing children's everywhere they're super trendy right now and I'm going to show you how to make one with crochet for this project you will need yarn and I'm using a brunette handy crafter 100% cotton you will need scissors and a crochet hook I'm using a 3.75 millimeter hook if you're new to crochet head to my video how to crochet if not let's get started you're going to make a slipknot and you're going to chain 39 you after you've chained 39 we're going to start working in double crochets on a foundation chain so we're going to skip the first stitch closest to our hook yarn over insert your crochet hook yarn over pull through two yarn over pull through two but instead of continuing like this what we're going to do now is chain one and we're going to skip the next stitch and go and do our double crochet and the one beside it right so skip one double crochet in the next and then chain one again basically your chain one kind of acts like the space you need between the stitch you're skipping all right so we're going to repeat that step again alright so double crochet Shayne one and if you can kind of see why we're doing this way too it's like this stitch the double crochet chain one you're making a very tall stitch and we get nice basting because of the chain one so basically that's a desired look for this choker so we're going to keep doing this step until you get to the end of your foundation chain so again you're going to skip one you're going to double crochet chain one and repeat so meet me at the end when you've reached the last stitch on your vanishing chain once you've reached the end it looks like this and you're still going to do your chain one that you were doing earlier and what we're going to do now is we're just going to turn the work around and we're going to single crochet on the area we just worked alright so just get in there chain 1 and single crochet in the stitches at the top this parts a little tricky sometimes it's hard to get your crochet hook into the chain 1 spaces but just do a little wiggle wiggle and you should be good alright so just get in there do your single crochets until you reach the end of the row and then I'll tell you what to do from there right so I'll meet you there you all right once you get to the end of your row here we're going to do is chain one and along the part bottom part here you're going to also single crochet again the stitches are a little hard to grab but just do your best try to get in there as much as possible and then to make the corner again I'm going to chain one and I'm going to single crochet along our original foundation chain so you're just going to single crochet until you reach the end and then I'll show you the next step alright so meet me back when you get to the end of your foundation chain you're going to do a little chain one again and this is for the corners I just look at it normally you can tell when this part is a little bit nicer and is the front of your work so stick that tail in the back I like to just hold my finger like this on it and you're just going to single crochet here to give it to clean it up again is there hard to find you just wiggle around when you get to the last one instead of doing a single crochet you're going to do a slip stitch alright you're going to chain one turn your work around slip stitch this is to create to the band too tight and then what you're going to do is chain I change about 35 but you can chain as many as you want this part ties in the back of your necks you can use your judgement on what you prefer you're going to then cut your yarn give yourself a little bit of room for a tail pull the yarn through take your work flip it around so that the back side is not facing you and you know that because you have your little tail here you're going to take your yarn this is how I like to attach my yarn you can do it any way you like I just make a loop with my fingers like this I insert my crochet hook in the center of the side part pull through then I take the tail and I pull it through like that through the loop that I've made I secure it and then I just do my chain and just keep your finger on the tail and then just chain as many chains as you did for the other side I tend to lose count when I'm doing chains like this so I just take my work and fold it and make sure that the two are the same length once they are I cut it put my yarn through and you just weave in your ends all right so do that for all your tails I would like to go back and use thread and a needle just to UM secure my um Mike Mike make any cuts or anything just in case I'm just make a nice little knot I'm going to trim it a little do the same thing on the other side and voila thank you so much for watching today's tutorial on how to crochet your own choker if you like this video don't forget to like subscribe and comment below if you'd
