hi today we're going to build this handrail for our stairwell this is made out of red oak I carved this handrail by myself no not really I just got it lows and the balusters and the rest of the red oh we got from a local lumber mill the post the newel posts are pine wrapped with oak plywood trimmed out with pine again now you guys are probably going to ask why pine but we're kind of cheap so we thought it would work and since we were painting it it looks pretty good so anyway if you guys would like to see how we did it stick around let's get started haha well I'm definitely glad that this project is finally behind me it was a very tedious project lots of thinking lots of trial and error getting the angles right and very nerve-wracking to cut like this expensive handrail you only get one shot so it was very nerve-wracking glad that's behind me so for now Ethan can't get around the baby gate to get up the stairs but we need to move on rather quickly to the gate on the bottom of the stairs because he he's what he walks now and he's mobile and he climbs these stairs like like a monkey it's amazing there are a few other things that will probably end up doing on the newel post we might put a little more decorative trim but we'll need to see how it wears and if that's a place where the kids are going to run into it all the time so we may or may not put that in I do need to make a plug for the top of the handrail where I bolted it into the post you need to make and stain a plug for that and we may put spacers underneath this provide some support to the balusters if you liked what you saw please give us a thumbs up if you have any questions about the bill leave me a comment I'd love to see what you have to say and we like the interaction with all of our viewers I'm Tyler I like to do it myself and we will see you next time you
