hey everyone this is jess found another girl living foods calm I've been getting some messages from a couple of people telling me that they had some problems digesting raw kale and raz spinach I'm just going to show you a few quick ways of preparing kale and spinach by cutting them and marinating them and this way it should break down a little bit easier in your body I'm going to start off with the tail so there's a little bit more to show so at the farmers market I got some really awesome curly kale it would be a lot easier to show you this with the Lawson on Oh Cal but I just don't happen to have it right now sorry apologize ahead of time as you can see with kale there's this very thick stem right here this part is great for juicing has a lot of essential vitamins in it but sadly for us to chew on and eat it raw it's very very difficult so right away just going to pull that right off see keep the stump for juicing and then have these little bits they're still little parts of the stem in here but so small and thin that it shouldn't be that difficult to digest anyone and what you can do is you can just shred this part up have fun rip it up so you can see little it's like bite-size pieces or if you wanted something a little fancy and take your kale put all the pieces together one okay I can just roll it up like a cigar and we're going to shipping on this scale so say I rolled it up here take my knife nice little rolling motion here we're just going for see there's the ribbons this way when i marinate the kale with some lemon juice and some soul and use my fingers to massage it will help break it down but you see how this cute little ribbons come out much more PR you compare so bite bite pieces and the beautiful chef and add pieces it's a little bit more pleasing if you're feeding other people what I like to do is I put a lot a lemon juice awesome salt and just kind of massage it in there and sometimes let it sit for a few minutes if I have time to spare or if you really like to find times ahead of time I'm not really crazy about plastic but I know this works really rare you can put the kale in this bag with a little bit of lemon juice olive oil whatever you prefer to marinate it in okay squish up by a little bit here I and put it in the fridge next day let's say make it after your dinner for lunch your lunch is all set the kales already marinated you can put it in a nice plastic not plastic I hate plastic glass container seal it up get it ready to go another one I'm I've had some of my readers some of it issues digesting is raw spinach after seeing the cow i'm sure you kind of have an idea of what i'm going to do with this but it's a little easier to show you how you can like a little sudan think do a chef and all ribbon ocean again little parrot here like a french making lots of stack up truck noises because it had some construction going on here it's very interesting how animals pick up on things in your environment so you can even see the spinach see a lot better that shipping on ribbon then finally once no actually wants a mixer way down the co i'll have this for they're just some salad maybe a little salt and some spices maybe some shredded carrot avocado to keeney tomatoes famo radishes put all sorts of stuff in there and you can let it you know you can massage it yourself you can do that plastic bad trick can let it just work its beauty in the fridge and it will it will break down a lot easier but definitely taking out the stem hopes a ton with the kale helps up a lot i hope that helps out my friends who are having some difficulties digesting raw kale and spinach I know raw kale salads are very popular most grocery stores now even or at vegan and vegetarian restaurants it's a great cheap go to quick dish to make like I said you can put olive oil how do I different spices oh you can rip it off I can watch chef and I technique you just come over and what I like to do with stems is an amazing jar with just a little bit of water like the stems right in there so the next day I can juice them so like tonight and find up and juice I'm going to have this salad for my dinner but tomorrow morning I have some kale stems and I already chalked these ahead of time so you can just pop them on my juicer so thank you all so much for stopping I and please leave any comments questions any concerns you and I am I get a good friend today ask me some questions about trash she liked to do some things with squash since she gets only had csa box so hopefully not sure I ever had a video with some different techniques on how to prepare raw squash alright thanks again for stopping by x luv
