Installing a smart thermostat is an easy and high-tech upgrade for any home. Here's how I'd rate installing a thermostat on the DIY scale. I think this is a project you
can do yourself but remember HomeAdvisor has you covered if you decide to skip the DIY and hire a guy. For this project you'll need the following materials. Start by removing the thermostat from the wall. Behind that you will find a number of
wires. So that you don't forget where everything goes take a photo or try using tape to
label the wires. Then carefully remove the existing
thermostat. Next, remove the cover from your new thermostat and pull the wires through the plate. Then mouth the wall plate using the screws and level to make sure it's straight.
Finally, attach the wires to the correct location and align the thermostat to the wall.
Snap your cover back into place. That project wasn't too hard right? Let's look at the DIY scale again. If the installs seem to tough, it's okay to skip the DIY and hire a guy. For more home how to's make sure to subscribe to the HomeAdvisor YouTube channel.
