hi my name is Sarah Lawson I work for Gramercy in Atlanta Georgia where a fine linens establishment and we're going to show you the best way to pull your napkins from the laundry not the dry cleaner and press them the best care for your napkins when you wash them either in the washing machine or hand wash them is to wash them on a delicate cycle preferably with laundress or something other some other type of detergent that's quite gentle it's here at linen pull your napkins out of your dryer or off of your dryer line just before they're completely dry and when they're just a bit damp that's when you can press them with a very hot iron you don't want to use any kind of starch because that actually starts to break down your fibers and using any kind of harsh abrasive detergents will also break down your fibers I like to give it a little bit of string just to get those extra wrinkles out and then the best way to store them is to either lay them flat or if you're not ready to have them pressed you can certainly put them into a bag in the refrigerator or the freezer to keep them nice and damp and then they're ready for you to press sometimes if you have a bit of an extra wrinkle that just wants to not come out just give it a good little steam minute I typically fold my napkins and then steal over them just to give it a nice crisp line and this of course would be if you're entertaining you can certainly press them before or you can just go ahead and store them and this works quite well with all linen napkins or with a linen blend
