hello my name is Paul Bates I'm one of the directors of a company called clinical environmental services limited we're a pest control company today we're going to try and help you with some of your pest problems around the house okay there's three or four different kinds of beetle that all look very similar one is the woodworm beetle one is the cigarette beetle which is not so much of a problem nowadays because so very few people smoke nowadays however the third in the family is the biskits beetle quite often it's dog owners that will find this when they've got their their dog biscuits kept in the bottom of a pantry and they'll go to them and start seeing holes in the dog biscuits or maybe it'll be a proper packet of biscuits their own biscuits and they'll go to them and suddenly find holes even through the packets these will be the biscuit beetle larvae and similarly to lots and lots of store product insects the problem is it's the larvae that do the damage rather than the actual people now these larvae will be able to nor their way through cardboard packets into packets of dried soup they'll go through cardboard packets containing biscuits and then once they're in there they will start chewing the way through the biscuits they may be at the back of the cupboard and if you start seeing these beetles which are roughly the size of lady Birds slightly narrower slightly smaller a brown color then you need to find the source of them that will mean going to the back of all your food cupboards emptying them out looking in every pack getting rid of anything that's out of date of course which is general food hygiene once you've emptied the cupboards clean the cupboards out thoroughly get rid of any residues that may be in the hinges around the cracks and crevices at the back of the shelving in cupboards look for any signs of any insect activity in all the products particularly products that may be open then carry out a disinfectant spraying cleaning at the back of the cupboards spray it around the kitchen with aerosol insecticides if then continues on that's when you start to need the services of a pest control company such as clean kill
