hi I'm Angela price from Eden condense small space garden design and this is garden space today I'm going to talk to you about how to use hey for weed control and you can buy hay in a pet shop or in a feed store and hay is usually the less dried out version of straw the one problem with hay is is that sometimes it does have seed pods in it which will may sprout in your garden in which case it's not always the best solution for weed control whereas straw which is completely dried out generally doesn't have any seed pods in it so choose hey that that is has all the seed pods removed and basically all you want to do is just spread it around the base of your plants and it will act as a mulch and like most mulches it will cool the soil it will help retain moisture and help prevent weeds do make sure that you give your plants enough room to grow and as the hay decomposes you can add more on it and it will actually add nutrients into the soil if you have any other questions about how to use hey as weed control please contact me at WWE didn't condense com thank you very much you
