hi I'm Rachel you too sis and I'm going to show you how to dispose of compact fluorescent bulbs or you know any fluorescent bulbs fluorescent bulbs are awesome because they save the environment and they last for like seven years this light bulb will last forever they'll even say on the package seven to ten years you can live in a house and the entire time you live in the house never have to replace a light bulb they use tons less energy your light bill will go down there's so many reasons to use them the one bad thing is if you have kids you know the dangers of mercury and how toxic it is to your children so light bulbs like this can be dangerous if they break and you know the mercury that they contain you need to dispose of them get them out of the house as quick as possible I guess so when the light bulb goes out after seven or eight years you want to get it into a plastic bag if you want to use a ziploc bag that's fine - I would say double bag it and some plastic bags and take it outside to the trash that way if something does get thrown on top of it and the bulb breaks it's outside in a well ventilated area if you have a bulb that's broken in your homes turn off your heating and air unit so the air is not circulating and open all the doors and windows this will ventilate your house and get all those toxic fumes and things out of the house get the kids out everybody go outside and let the house air out for a good hour before you go back in whoever is brave enough to go back in after that grab some duct tape and use this to get all the shards of glass that may be stuck in the carpet or something like that you know that they'll stick to the duct tape and make sure to get all the pieces of the complex compact fluorescent bulb up completely before it's safe to walk around in your bare feet or something like that I'm Rachel u2's this and that's how you dispose of compact fluorescent light bulbs
