okay so today I'm gonna show you how to do a paracord wrap on the new SOG instinct I'm using the instinct mini version of this knife all over the handle configuration is the same you're gonna need about 40 inches of parachute cord for purposes I've used it before I always leave the inner strands of the guts inside the parachute cord just because this multiplies my cordage in case I have to use this in a survival situation instead of having one piece of cord I now have eight pieces of cord so the way it starts is take your cord right here in the middle and do one wrap here and then come around on this side and do the other wrap get that nice and tight notice that I already had the knife clamped into the table just because you don't need to see me fumbling around trying to get the knife in place now take this cord and bring the other one around and back down i snug up the cords as I go this is a pretty common rap I've used this for my SEO Zula for years never had any problems with it now we do have these finger cutouts here instead of trying to going over the top and making the rap kind of sloppy I'm going to go around them leaving a little bit of it exposed and just kind of push it up as it go and this isn't a rap that's made to win any sort of aesthetic contests it's more of a rap for functionality let's get a little bit tight down here at the end but that's okay I kind of want that all right so at this point get this all dressed up here we have four wraps four wraps and four wraps and now comes the time to end it and there's a lot of you know if you have if you left this little bit loose you could fish it back up through the top with a hemostat not leave any loose ends you can do a lanyard to feel like lanyards I've got a pretty simple way to finish it let's take one end I'm gonna leave this loop a little bit loose and this one I usually have a problem with so I'm gonna use my hemostat and pull that alright so I've got these two strands and I have two loops just got a reposition a little bit here so I run this side through and I run this side through and I pull tight you could finish this off with an overhand knot you leave it be I'm gonna let that up to you we just take this off the clamp here and you don't have to clamp yours to the table but as you find it a little bit safer and easier to work with it got you so there it is it's a nice parachute cord handle wrap for the SOG NSYNC mini nice little blade actually it'll be great for backpacking here's the sheath that came with it comes with a belt clip I'll probably take the clip off is all where this is a neck knife
