Please explain how to knit - purl stitch (beginner tutorial)

we begin with the pearls this tutorial I just wanted to make note that I did already cast on ten stitches and also knit one row of all knit stitches if you need to see either of those tutorials please click on the videos above otherwise let's get started with a prostitute oriole alright so here we go with the purl stitch this is the ball end of the yarn which is the side that you want to work off of you're going to hold the needle with the work in your left hand as always and you're going to take the empty needle in your right hand and what you want to do is go in from above so in the knit stitch you went in from below but for the purl stitch what you want to do is go in with your right handed needle from above into the loop and what you're going to do is you're going to take the ball end of the yarn and wrap that around the right hand and needle and then you're going to go ahead and bring it through the loop just like that and then you're going to slide your work off of the left handed needle so I'm going to show you that again here's the ball end of the yarn and you're going to take the right hand and needle go in from above go in from above and you're going to have the right hand and needle over the left hand and needle then you're going to take the ball end of the yarn and wrap it around your right hand and needle make sure it doesn't slip out and you're going to pull it through the loop and then off of your left hand at needle and you can tighten as you go just so these stitches are more even you can just pull on that ball end of the yarn to tighten it a little bit there you have it and this is just what the other side of the work looks like I already cast it on ten stitches and Row one was all knits and then the row three which I just showed in this video is all purl stitches so yeah that's pretty much it and as always if you have any questions feel free to tweet me that's probably the fastest way to get in contact with me I don't check the comments here on this channel as frequently as I should and I'm sorry about that but just feel free to tweet me if you have any questions and another thing is if you guys ever try the free patterns that I post on my blog please tweet me or send me a picture tag me on instagram because it really makes my day when I see someone try out the pattern that I posted and I also love seeing all the different colors and textures of yarn that you guys choose to use for the project it really encourages me to kind of make more videos and post more patterns online so yeah I'll put all my social media links in the info box below if you do want to get in contact with me so I hope to see you on Twitter or Instagram soon and that's it for this video so I'll see you next time Oh
