hi i'm mark from ereplacementparts.com in this video i'm going to show you how to square up and align a dewalt dw708 miter saw we'll start by aligning the miter adjustment on the saw the miter adjustment is held in place by these detents on this plate on the base of the saw so to align this i'll need to loosen the four screws that hold this plate to the saw with the detent plate now loose from the base of the saw i'll go ahead and rotate the head of the saw until it locks into the zero degree detent now when i move the head of the saw the detent plate will move with the saw this will allow me to square the blade to the fence i'll use a small square to do that again now as i move the saw the detent plate is also moving which will allow me to lock it in at 90 degrees so everything looks square on my square now i'll lock the two bolts on the outside edges of the detent plate with the detent plate secured in place with two screws now i can go ahead and tighten up the other two and that's it for the miter adjustment now we can take a look at the bevel adjustment on the saw the dw708 can bevel 45 degrees to both directions of the blade as well as lock in place at 90 degrees so we'll have three adjustments we'll need to look at two to set the 45 degree bevels and one to set the 90 degree bevel we'll go ahead and make those adjustments now i'll start by setting the 90 degree adjustment i have the bevel lock unlocked on the saw i'll take a small square and place it on the base of the saw and up against the blade now i can see how f how far out of square i am using the 90 degree adjustment point on the back of the saw i'll turn it with a wrench until i'm perfectly square on my square and that looks good so the 90 degree adjustment is set now we'll look at the first of the two 45 degree adjustments to set these i'll take my adjustable combination square and remove the rule so i can use the head to set the 45 degree measurement now i'll get the adjustable fence out of the way on one side of the saw and i'll tip the head over to the 45 degree setting again i can place my combination square against the base of the saw and up against the blade and then turn the bolt on the back of the saw to make this adjustment and that looks good there and now i'll go ahead and make the same adjustment on the opposite side and that looks good right there and that's all it takes to align the miter bevel adjustments on a dewalt dw708 miter saw if you found this video helpful please feel free to leave a comment or ask us a question
