Please explain how to customize any cleat

what's up guys welcome back to the epsilon football and today's video is a super special video which I've been working on for a long time now if you guys follow my Instagram story first off Instagram outline and football check me out but if you did you've seen the process that I've been working through I've been given little snippets and little teasers of it but they are finally done and I have the full video let's get into it today's video I'm going to be showing you how to customize your own cleats at home so the two supplies basically you'll need are the dupli-color paint on the far right and the masking tape everything will be linked down below now the first thing you have to do is obviously clean your klieg as you can see how dirty these were when they started and this is the design I came with up on Photoshop for what I wanted to make so the first thing I did is I basically masked off bottom of the cleat and then I just sprayed the whole cleat white to help even everything out of it as a start so after the white was down I masked off where I wanted it to be red and then I laid down the first coat of red I did two coats of white and two coats of red dupli-color now on one side is a hard edge and on the other side is if there's no end to it so I decided on one side to use the edges it gave me and on the other side to do in custom fade so here I'm basically working out my fade pattern all I did is I started farther away to get down a light base and then I kind of moved closer and worked my way down to create this fade and there it is there the next thing I did do which was really time-consuming was I had to mask off to make these swooshes so the first thing I did is I covers the whole swoosh in tape then I kind of pushed the tape into the corners and then use an exacto knife to cut out around it then I went ahead and taped the whole rest of the cleat in that way I've just been focusing on that now with these swooshes it is not fabric so I had any moves normal spray paints the first thing I did is I lay down a coat of primer and then I came back and I hit it with two coats just normal yellow spray paint which I already had on hand now we did have a little bit of bleed-through issues which I'm going to take you through here in a second on how to get rid of if you have any issues where it bled through so I kind of took it off when it was a little wet to make sure none of it would stick and then the first thing I did is I came back with in that little white cap there is paint thinner and I came back with a q-tip dipped it in the paint thinner and I was able to use that to kind of get rid of any lead out I came around and I think we're to do a close-up here in a second I'll show you another thing you can see is that the fly wire on the side of the cleats did not get painted and that's just because there's a coating I realized on the fly wire which didn't allow them to paint it so here there's a lot of bleed out I had to deal with and as you can see you can make actually pretty quick work of it and the fabric paint didn't come off when I was using the paint that on the spray paint which is really nice now I couldn't get it absolutely perfect with just using the paint thinner so then what I had to do is I came back and I put a little bit of spray paint in that cap and I came back and did a little bit of touch-ups around some areas just to help it out a little bit clean it up as much as I could and the last thing I wanted to do was repaint the soles on them so the first thing I do was tape up the entire top of the cleat leave the whole bottom then of course because it is plastic I decided to use spray paint yet really make sure and cover up the entire cleat you don't want to get any bleed out you really want to be done at this point and then I just gave it a quick light sanding just to help the primer stick to make sure nothing crazy just to get in all the smaller edges and there you can see it's completely taped off then I just laid down a coat of primer again this is just the basic primer you could buy at any store $6 can and then for the bottoms I decided to use the matte black that I used to do my last custom helmet and I actually think it turned out really nicely with the matte black and now we're done now there are a couple issues with these before you go ahead and buy all the supplies and do this kind of thing the first being this paint stinks for a couple days straight after you're done like I'm still trying to get rid of the smell around the house and stuff as this is finishing cure right now and it is what is this Wednesday so finish Sunday so about I'm at for days and it's still smelling so I'm gonna say about a week fern to stop being so stinky the other thing is it's natural say if you're putting a hard coating on something and there's constantly a bend at certain points you're gonna have some cracking now I kind of knew this going in that all the major cracking would be on the swoosh as that is the place where I knew at least stick which is why I use a lot of primer on that point and there's still some so you can see okay so you can see the cracks they're there they're there and that's just from naturally how your foot bends like this as you're running so that's going to happen with there another thing I knew which would happen is I'm getting a little bit of wear off on the inside a little bit coming off from a lot of work on the top here although it's really not noticeable now from up close these are all super noticeable features but you have to put in perspective of being on the field when someone is 10 20 feet away they're not going to notice any of these small details you can barely even see them right here they look unreal okay my furnace is kicking up but I want to get this done so if you guys liked this video today again please hit the like button as this visit this video took a lot of effort to make also share the video with all your friends show them how you did your sit cleats which I'm hoping to see some results again don't forget to tag me in the photos if you do some sit cleats don't forget to tag me on instagram if you decide to make your own I hope you guys enjoyed this video today and as always thanks
