hi there and welcome to the day we craft Channel today we're going to making a very simple quilting project ball cozies you'll need two pieces of cotton wadding cut into 10 inch squares and two 10 inch squares of patent cotton from the fabric Fox you'll also need tailors chalk pins a ruler and some scissors lay your patent cotton over one of the wadding pieces and pin around the four sides to secure using your ruler and tailors chalk mark the fabric corner to corner this will give you a guide to sew over run this through your sewing machine don't worry about securing the ends just now as these will be bound into the edge seams later once you've sown your cross you can remove the pins fold your fabric in half measure two inches down on the folded side of your fabric and Mark the tailors chalk then measure one inch along the top and mark again draw along these two points to create a sew line repeat this on the other side run this through your machine to give the bowl cozy shape once both the ends have been sewn fold the fabric the other way and repeat with the other two corners trim the excess off with scissors now you have the basic bowl cozy shape now repeat this with the other fabric turn one bowl inside out and place within the other so the pattern sides are facing each other line up the edges and pin to secure do this all the way around mark a two inch opening this left unsewn when sewing to keep the corners neat sew up to the corner then with the needle drop down lift the sewing foot and move the fabric then drop the sewing foot down again and continue here I've sewn all the way around the edge except the two inch opening I've also trimmed off the corners open up the gap and turn inside out so the pattern fabric is back on the outside push out the corners it might be helpful to use something pointy push out all the internal seams so they sit nice and flat then close up the gap by sewing all the way around the edge so as close to the edge as you can about five mil is fine when you come to a seam stop with the needle drop down lift the sewing foot move the fabric drop the foot and continue do the same with the corners with the sewing needles drop down lift the sewing foot before moving the fabric when you're happy with the fabric placement drop the foot again there's no fabric to guide with at the back so take a pin and insert it into the fabric behind the needle use this to help guide the fabric through stop when you reach your start point and trim off about four inches of thread tie these threads together to secure and finish and those you'll finish ball cozy thank you guys so much for watching if you enjoyed this video then please like us on Facebook and most importantly subscribe
