Please explain how to eat an artichoke with garlic butter

hi I'm Miranda Valentine editor of the lifestyle blog everything sounds better in French and today I'm going to show you how to even artichoke with garlic butter garlic butter is certainly one of my favorite things in the world and I also love artichokes and together I'm telling you they will change your life so how I made this garlic butter today and we actually have some videos for you here at Mahalo if you'd like to look at those but I did two tablespoons of butter melted with about a clove of garlic minced and then a little bit of salt and a little bit of pepper and kind of mix that all up together and you have until it's just wonderful garlic butter I have a baked artichokes here this method of eating works for any kind of cooked artichoke you have it can be steamed it can be boiled and grilled it can be baked just as long as it's cooked this will work fine so I know that sometimes artichokes can be a little bit intimidating if people see these out and say like I'm not really sure I'm supposed to eat this I promise it's really easy what we're working on is the leaves right now and pull one off and if you flip it over you'll notice that the actual meat this lighter white part that's what we're going for it's really on the inside and on the lower half so what you're going to do is dip it in the butter kind of as much as you like I just like a little bit but it's sort of like chips and dip kind of whatever your preference is some people like a little bit of a chip or a side of chip with their dip same thing so I'm grabbing the edge right so this is essentially what I'm holding on to this part so just if you always remember that this rougher white part is what's going to kind of go in first then you'll be fine so you're gonna slip this and put this in your mouth and you're actually gonna be using your teeth that's how you get it off so you kind of like grinds your teeth back and forth on it to really like pull the artichoke meat off so put it hmm work your teeth again step and you'll see the teeth marks see where I pulled it up you're sort of stripping the meat place it between your teeth and you're really using your teeth almost as like knives on each side to pull the meat off and then you just take it out and there you have it and move on to the next one you certainly don't get a lot of meat per leaf at all sort of like pomegranates there's not a lot of juice per little seed and I know it's a little bit of work but it's definitely worth it there's nothing quite like an artichoke and there you have it that's how you didn't artichoke with garlic butter thanks for watching make sure to subscribe and if there's something that you want to learn how to make send me an email at requests at Mahalo calm and don't forget to check out our other great videos you
