Olivia from Herzl honey here today we're learning how to create the picot trellis stitch to begin chain and multiples of 5 plus 2 let's move on to Row 1 to begin skip the first chain and in that second chain crochet single crochet so insert your hook yarn over pull back through 2 loops on your hook yarn over and pull through both loops creating a single crochet now chain 5 so 1 2 3 4 5 then you'll need to skip 4 chain stitches and then in the fifth chain stitch you'll want to crochet single crochet insert hook in that fifth chain stitch yarn over pull back through 2 loops on your hook yarn over and pull through both loops here you go so I want to continue repeating the pattern of chaining 5 then skipping 4 chain stitches crushing a single crochet in the 5th chain all the way across to reach the end of this row once you reach the end 4:01 it's time to move on to Row 2 to begin chain 6 one two three four five six then turn your works your crocheting in the other direction now in that next chain art you'll want to be crocheting a picot stitch so in that third chain of that next chain arch to the center chain I want to crochet your pickup so to begin crochet a single crochet in that chain then you'll want to chain three one two three then create another single crochet in that same chain stitch to remember that third or Center chain of that chain arch there you go you just created your first picot stitch now you'll want to chain 5 so 1 2 3 4 5 then in that next chain 5 arch crochet typical stitch in that third chain so remember you need to crochet single crochet then chain 3 so 1 2 3 then another single crochet in that same chain this creates the picot stitch so you'll need to continue repeating the pattern of chaining 5 then crocheting Epico stitch in that Center or third chain the next chain arch all the way across to reach the end of this row once you reach the end of Row 2 you'll need to chain two one Q then crochet a triple crochet in that turning single crochet yarn over twice and insert your hook yarn over pull back through four loops on your hook yarn over pull through the first two loop three loops left on your hook yarn over pull through the next two loops to its left sign over and pull through the last two loops there you go now time to move on to row 3 to begin chain one yarn over pull through the loop on your hook and turn your work so crocheting in the opposite direction now crochet a single crochet in that first stitch so the same stitch that the chain 1 is in there you go now chain 5 1 2 3 4 5 then skip that next backhoe stitch and in the following chain arch crochet two Perko in that Center that third chain of the chain arch remember purko consists of the single crochet training three and another single crochet in the same chain stitch perfect to continue repeating the pattern of training 5 and skipping that next to Co stitch then crocheting a picot stitch in the following chain arch but in the third chain of that chain arch all the way across to reach the very end of this row once you reach the end of Row 3 you'll need to chain 5 1 2 3 4 5 now skip that next picot stitch then crochet single crochet in the third chain of the turning chain perfect you ready see the trailer stitch coming along so now you'll want to continue repeating Row 2 2 3 until you've reached your desired length this is how the picot trailer stitch starts to look after repeated rows 2 to 3 multiple times you'll immediately notice how the combination of chain arches and pocos really complement one another is it creates a really unique lace pattern closely resembling trellises thus the name a couple of the reasons why I love to use the stitch there's because I find at the ideal stitch crochet newbies to give a go as it is fairly simple to learn and master it it still creates an interesting and fun texture by being reversible the stitch always looks beautiful no matter which side is on display as the picot trailer stitch does work up into a lovely mesh fabric and works faster when crocheting bohemian inspired market bags and lightweight Shores be sure to check out my blog hopeful honeycomb for lots of free crochet patterns if you enjoyed this tutorial please thumbs it up share and subscribe
