hi this is Keith at passport mini and today I'm going to do a tutorial on how to install the m56 illuminated door so kit so in the kit you'll get from our passport online store you'll get two replacement LED illuminated door cells our non marring removal tool to take off the old door sills a package of surface prep cleaner that we'll put on before we install our new door cells two magnets and two replacement batteries are also included in the kit so the first step is going to be to remove the old door sill and to do that we use our non marring tool and a small screwdriver or step prying tool that we'll use just to get the non marring tool under the old door so now we've removed the old sill strip this vehicle brand-new so all of the adhesive came up if you do have any residual adhesive material on here something like a goof off or a surface prep solvent will remove that easily for you alright after you've cleaned off any residual residue you have left now we're going to prep the surface with the included surface of prep white go ahead and open that up I've already pre removed to the other side and I'm going to use the surface prep on both now the advantage of the new f56 door sill kit is that it operates off of a battery so there's no need to run wires through the car to the fuse box which makes the installation extremely easy and as you'll see with the included magnet that activates the light and then deactivates the light as the door is closed so later in the installation I will be installing this small magnet under the edge of the front door so after we've cleaned in surface prep our door sill we're going to remove the adhesive backing off of this new illuminated door so removed all our covers come down in here you'll see inside the recess there I found the easiest way to do this is to lay it up on its edge so you know you're in the right place and slowly lower it down toward the original door so used to sit and then press lightly over where the double-sided tape was now the illuminated door sill is installed we can remove the protective cover from the face of it now the door sill is in place we need to install the activation magnet and the easiest way I found to do that is to locate the spot where the magnet belongs setting the magnet inside the cover shut the door and you'll hear the bag to hit the bottom of the door then reopen the door now the magnets been picked up out of the holder and it's stuck to the bottom of the door where it needs to be so this is the cover out of the kit it's going to hold this magnet into place we're going to remove the double sided cover and without moving the magnet from its current location we're going to cover the magnet with a piece of black trim there after successfully completing the installation of your door sill kit you'll find that when you open the door it illuminates and then you just repeat this process on the other side this concludes our tutorial on how to install f56 illuminated door sills thank you for watching motor
