Please explain how to lay turf in the winter: new lawn in winter

good morning and welcome to bowling turf we get asked many questions whether you can later for the winter we do a quick video and a presentation to say that you can we'd like to come through and show you the garden we're going to be doing so this is before obviously the ground's quite wet but luckily it's over amp till so it's absolute soil so it's it's reasonably sandy so foreign to crack on with it um we'll just do step-by-step video on showing you the best way later for the winter as you can see we've raked out the entire garden uh normally this normally what we do in a garden we put a roller on it to flatten it all down but the ground is very wet it's going to stick to the roller so we have to go over our feet and stamp it down like this making sure we get all the air bubbles out so that the ground doesn't really level itself in six months down the road as you can see we completely firmed up the ground now the key thing is now is we're using this really dry gritty soil that's got a lot of sand in it and some compost in it as well this here can help us finish off the level before we lay the turf as you can see we finished leveling the garden it's got this last layer over the entire area stored from sticking we've started laying some turf so we started from the long point in the corner right way down there which is my longest part i'm going to work away from the lawn so not walking on the turf it was late if it was if it was more wet than this um we'd have to use scaffold planks but beans it's it's not too bad we can get away working off the ground that we used as you can see we've finished laying the lawn we'll be able to give it a roll going both ways and the key thing about lane turf in the winter is the fact that it shouldn't need any watering which is really good for the client and their water bill also the fact that turf would be nice and established come next spring when they want to be using the garden an area i would avoid in the winter time would be like a black frost anything near minus five because an area i probably would avoid because the turf does need some sort of walk to get knitted together all the information i've said is on our website which is bolt and turf dot code uk or you can check us out on our facebook page which is and turn now we specialize in supply lane turf that's what we do if you're looking for a landscaping work there's a landscaping company in bedford which is near us called peacock landscape it's a guy called matt peacock and they are really good at doing all the other landscaping work many thanks for watching the video
