hi this is Daniel D taro in this video I'll show how to replace a spring mounted doorstop with a hinge mounted doorstop the entire process takes only a couple minutes per door the hinge mounted doorstop on the right can come in several styles depending on manufacturer but the installation procedure is essentially the same you'll need a slotted screwdriver that fits in the hole at the bottom of the hinge a hammer and wood putty or caulk to fill the hole after you remove the spring doorstop if the hinge pin is fully seated place the screwdriver in the bottom hinge hole and tap it with the hammer to loosen the pin for easy removal this style comes with a spacer for thinner pins and a flat surface that goes up against the door place the doorstop on top of the hinge insert the pin and then use your other hand or a helper to align the hinge so that you can easily reinsert the hinge pin if the hinge pin doesn't fully seat when you insert it gently tap it with the hammer until it rests against the spacer or the hinge rotate the screw clockwise or counter clockwise to adjust the stop angle check that the door is stopping at the correct position and then remove the spring hinge by turning it counterclockwise do a second clearance check and adjust the stop as needed use wood putty or caulk to fill the hole left by the spring hinge once dried you can paint or stain to match your baseboard and that's all there is to it I hope you found this information helpful thank you for watching
