Please explain how to: remove siezed bolt in bushing ( honda lca)

what's going on guys so on today's band what we're doing is I was doing a strut job on this I wasn't even filming it but then what I realized is when I went to go turn the 17 or 40 ml bolt on the bottom of the strut that ended up shooting the head off and I decided hey this might be a good video for you guys so what we got in this case is we got a bolt that's gonna be stuck in the strut in the control arm and but the issue here is we're gonna also have the captured nut that's welded to the control arm on the other side we don't have a lot of space what we're working with and also we're working on the ground today not on the hoist so that's gonna also come in to consideration when we're doing this so what I decided to do I could not get a zip cutter in here I would recommend getting a cut-off wheel if you can only had four and a half inch blade to six-inch blade would have been perfectly cut in here but I just did not have the space I grabbed my sawzall decided to cut the bolt in half this ended up being a chore and a half going through a couple of batteries just because they're all dead and then only had burnt held blade so I had to create a couple run cysts or just get some blades and stuff back to do this but what we're gonna do is we're going to cut to that bolt in half here that's in the control arm but we're not gonna do our best not to damage the control arm in the process here are fighting this and fighting this and fighting this it's been a while I am just nerd raging at this point I'm laying and it's all that rust it's falling down on it plus all the metal plus at the end of this we also got to figure out what we're gonna do with the bolt in this situation so after all this cutting I said screw it went down to my toolbox and the work of hanging this on Sunday so what it is I got my snap-on air hammer here you got a flat chisel bit and I couldn't cut all the way through it because I was just burning out through blades again a zip cutters cut off wheels best tool to be using here so what I did is I just wherever I cut halfway through I grabbed my air hammer and just started busting out at loose on the knot on the other side though the capture nut I got at it the best I can with the sawzall a cut off wheel and I could and just started Swiss cheesing up the bolt putting cuts into it where I can and then keep back with the air hammer started burping and the gun at it hoping to knock that bullet loose because that bolt is again tacked on to the control arm so once I separated there then we're able to move our strut out of place normally and this gives you to remove the bottom bolt you move the top two bolts strut should be out you're good to go in this case everything is a pain and that's what happens in automotive trade you could have the small shop just turn into a nightmare so again the bottom bolt was the one we had to cut out the top two bolts came out easily like they should of that strut supposed to just pop downwards and out but again from where we cut that the metal is too wedged into that control arm so I'm just fighting it with pry bars and everything just trying to knock it down gonna knock it down move to pop that out and then pull the Curtis M bleep out so after pry barring pry bar as we grabbed our hammer and we know I've got loose and just just sent it pretty much in this case got it out the issue is and now I want to get the bottom out with that skin that's hidden on the control arm so we'll have to do is we'll have to get our cutoff wheel shave off another quarter range of the bottom of the strut just to get this out all life is meant to be everybody here I'm gonna grab some rust paint and just handing over the metal marks here oh we never cut into the control arm it's just where the blade rubbed against from the saws all that rub against the control arm sir just painting that off and while that dries I'm gonna go to the bench here you manage to have a Ramona actually have a lower control arm bolt a shot full sorry from another honda project i forgot one but I needed grabbing nut from the hardware store I think there's an m12 by 1.25 here I'm just an T seizing that up that's gonna prevent it from whenever I ever need to remove that bolt in the future which I'm probably never gonna have to go without done that bolt should go in and it should be good we're gonna tighten that up get the straddle in and finally set her down from jack stands and be done with this project so what did we learn by the end of this we learn that a small job let's say what the internet would claim to be a 20 minute jog turned out to take me realistically this is me speaking this took me 3 hours and as me being transparent with you guys that's terrible time to spend on a corner like this but I was all the running around and such but and again I am a mechanic too as well which is terrible if you ask me to spend three hours on one strap but things like this happen and I would like to actually showcase that kind of stuff on this channel that this kind of stuff can happen and stuff just doesn't pop out like they do on TV shows or rust doesn't exist you know and I mean so I like to showcase this kind of stuff this is the real world we are also working in the garage here we are doing this on the floor we are doing this on or weekend and we are doing this by ourselves too so doing just to get her vehicle back on the road so we could go to work the next day you know we did overcome this you guys could overcome this kind of stuff too I remember having the fear of a broken Bowl to being the worst thing in the world but again at the end of the day this is just metal they're just bold Caesar just cars if you got a welder a grinder a brain you could get through any of this kind of stuff so just push forward and you know what it's you can overcome anything so without being sad we'll wrap this video up thanks for watching guys like this video if you liked it subscribe if you want to stay tuned to what's going on with a channel thanks a lot
