I'm going to take you through the process of preparing a feed corn for carp fishing so what I've got here is a 5 kilogram bag of feed corn from my local farm feed store at supply store 5 kilos for 4 bucks can't beat that price and fresh out of the bag it's very hard and dirty and grainy and I've noticed that the last time I prepared it at a very foul almost vomit type smell to it fish still seem to like it but that's because I covered it in molasses and coconut and corn flour and vanilla and also all sorts of other stuff so to prevent the that vomit II sort of fermenting odor I'm going to give it a rinse before I soak it and cook it and here I go and we can see down here all that little that residue which I believe is what causes that vomit sort of odor I guess that if you flavor up your corn the fish probably don't mind but if you're not going to flavor your corn to try and save a few bucks I think it's worthwhile to rinse off all that crap plus in this baggie form that I happen to buy often I find little it seemed looks like goat or rabbit type feed pellets and then if you ferment those or if you leave those to soak for a day or two days when you do your corn tends to stink so I'm removing those as well I'm just pouring my first batch of cleaned corn into my soaking bucket or that bucket but soaking pot and as I do that slowly I'm just going to look for any of those little feet pellets and I move those to avoid some of that vomit type odor there's some right there usually they're bigger though and that's what I'm trying to get rid of so there's my five kilos of corn soaking in my I think it's a twenty five liter pot and we're going to leave that overnight well 24 hours overnight and it's the evening so here's the corn been boiling for about 45 minutes now it's just starting to crack not fully softened yet not fully expanded yet so maybe another 15 20 minutes and you'll be ready to go and so that right there is the finished product they've expanded in size some of them have split right open and all the inner goodness can now leak in the water and if you take one they very easily squish between your fingers and all that good stuff comes up and that's it and so there it is that's the finished product right there after 24 hours of soaking and then about an hour of boiling
