this is total outdoor programming hey what's up the smarty from total outdoor programming we are on the rocky coast of Maine coming up here delivering a few mounts to a customer beautiful fishing village this is Bar Harbor Maine we thought what better to do than to get some fresh seafood and bring you guys cool recipes this is one of the seafood capitals of the world well we're back from New England and I'm going to put together a little four-part miniseries this is my souvenir from New England I couldn't afford to go out and catch any of the things they're so instead I just went to the store and bought it now that we're back I'm going to make a few recipes this is all new england-style food so i hope you like this series you know one of the highlights to do when you're out New England is to go clamming I didn't get to go clamming because it was too expensive but I'm still going to go ahead and buy some clams and today we're going to make New England clam chowder so we stopped at Augusta seafood in Augusta Maine and picked up some fresh caught seafood great just about as fresh as you can get it coming right off the coast there the owner Jeff helped us out and he was really great to work with got it all packed up nice so we can get it home safely they can also deliver fresh seafood and ship it straight to you so check it out a gust of seafood in Augusta Maine great place first take six strips of bacon and we're going to cook this in a cook stove you just want to go ahead and start browning the bacon you're going to try and get it crispy and let's go and add a stick of butter to make it even more healthy once the bacon is crispy you can go ahead and remove it and crumble it and save that for later we're going to go ahead and add a pint heavy whipping cream cup of chopped celery a cup of chopped onions a cup of chopped carrots and two cups of chopped potatoes now we're going to add four cups of water the a quarter cup of flour and mix that in really good the flour is going to help thicken it an eighth of a cup of red wine vinegar half a teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning a teaspoon of ground pepper and one-and-a-half teaspoons of salt mix that in now you can go ahead and put the lid on it cover it and just let it cook after about half an hour we're going to go and add the crumbled bacon from earlier mix that in and then add your fresh clams stir that in let it simmer for about another 20 minutes you don't want to over cook the clams make a nice little bread bowl for your chowder and you're ready to go well hopefully you like these recipes couldn't afford to go out and catch these things so I just went ahead and bought it if you have a different recipe variation that you would suggest feel free to leave it in the lines below and as always keep subscribing and we'll keep more videos coming for you you know one of the highlights that go into New England is going to dunkin donuts they're on every street corner and I can afford it I didn't Shh chickens settle down chickens settle down don't talk back
