hey it's Lee I'm going to show you how to jack up a Volkswagen Jetta or a golf or similar vehicles by Volkswagen using the manufacturer recommended jack method either by some chalks or makes them out of wood and always chalk the rear wheels front and back before you jack now if you're jacking the front right of the car you need to Jack need to chalk the rear left there's a two-step process to this first you find a point under the edge of the car here where there's what they call an indentation very hard to see it's right here it's more like a cliff but for somebody just took a hammer and whacked at once it's not well marked you can feel it better than you can see it if you can't see it it looks like it's about eight inches in front of the end of the fender for both the rear wheel and the front wheels about the same distance then what you do is you put your jack whether it's a screw jack or hydraulic jack here and jack up the car then after you Jack it you support the car on the frame just inside of that point and this would be the jack stand point right here a little enough here for you let me show you how it looks on the front now we're up by the front right wheel now and we jacked it up where the indentation was here again about eight inches from the front edge of this running board here and now we're going to put a jack stand just inside of this let's lower on download' jack stand and there we go never ever work underneath the car support it only by a hydraulic or a screw type Jack ever always use jack stands that are big enough to support the weight of your car we also leave a hydraulic jack or a screw jack in place in addition to the stands just as a backup measure good luck and be safe you
