Please explain how to locate sagging doors

hey guys Chris again from classic VW bugs calm another tip for you I got today is I'll talk about sagging doors if you're looking to get a bug or you're restoring a bug you want to be careful that when you when your doors close they don't hit the bottom heater channel here or the rocker or they don't hit the door frame in anywhere as its closing it should close nice and smooth one thing to look out for is when is this the big culprit for for it most of the time is the corner down by where the door post meets the heater channel if it's soft there or wasn't welded correctly then that's that's usually your culprit that's usually the the reason why you have a sagging door most the time is you know you have rust there if you're buying a bug and some guy says all the doors sag a bit you know you go to pick up the you can pick the door up by hand and from there you get to check the corner and if you see that it's coming apart or its soft and you hear cracking then you know that that corner area they're down by the door post is soft if the car was restored and you're buying it from somebody and the door is closed and even if you would you can try to adjust the hinges where those screws are in the corner over here but even that if it's still hitting that means if the guy put a new heater channels or floor pans or whatnot and he didn't do a good welding job and then all of a sudden you know now you've got to rehab to recut that door post out and then try to reweld it or we you know and whatnot but if you do that then all the sudden the paint's going to come off and it's good out to be retouched up again so to keep an eye out for that stuff I'll show you the corners right now and as you can see right here that that's where you'd have to point out to you have to take a look at to see if that any weak areas the door post area is right here in the frame that would be the may one of the main reasons for your doors sagging again you could also check the like I said the screws that hold the hinges in place but most of the time it's that door post so okay just to throw that out there just to keep an eye out for you Crysta classic VW bugs calm if you have any questions okay take care
