1 (abbreviated as pref in this dictionary 本词典中略为pref) word or syllable (eg co-, ex-, non-, pre-, re-) placed in front of a word to add to or change the meaning of that word, eg un- in unhappy 前缀(置於单词之前, 以增加或改变其意义的词或音节, 如 co-、 ex-、 non-、 pre-、 re-, 又如 unhappy 中的 un-).
